IN SUMMARY:

MARQ Trustees has outperformed its peers on cyber security measures in the ASIC 2023 Cyber Pulse Survey.

MARQ Trustees has scored significantly higher than its peer group in the Australian Securities and Investments Commission ASIC 2023 Cyber Pulse Survey.

About the ASIC Cyber Pulse Survey

ASIC developed the Cyber Pulse Survey to better understand the cyber maturity of regulated organisations in an environment of ongoing cyber risk.

The survey – which is voluntary and anonymous – allows businesses to assess their level of cyber resilience and benchmark themselves against their peers.

The findings from the survey will help ASIC identify gaps within certain sectors, guide initiatives and work with industry to uplift cyber resilience.

ASIC Chair, Joseph Longo, commented on the importance of cyber resilience for organisations: “There is a need to go beyond security alone and build up resilience – meaning the ability to respond to and recover from an incident. It’s not enough to have plans in place. They must be tested regularly.”

MARQ Trustees’ approach to cyber security

MARQ Trustees scored in the threes out of four and fours out of four in each of the six resilience measures surveyed by ASIC, compared to its peers, who scored 1.7.

Managing Director, Andrew Patrick, said: “These high scores demonstrate our commitment to ensuring our business is resilient against cyber threats across six key functions including detecting incidents, protecting assets and responding to threats.

“We take cyber security very seriously at MARQ Trustees and have invested heavily in this area of the business.

“Given the fast-paced nature of the cyber security sector, it’s encouraging to see the business community engaged in regular discussions about cyber risks and innovative solutions to combat them.”
