The Wickham Private Development Fund is investing in the development of an integrated private medical facility and hotel consisting of 5,000 sqm of medical space and 81-room hotel in Brisbane’s premier medical precinct on the edge of the CBD. The new development is set to benefit from a major program of urban renewal and infrastructure spending in the suburb and close surrounds.
The Fund’s aim is to capitalise on the growing market demand for private medical facilities and, elective day-surgery in particular, through the acquisition and development of 375 Wickham Tce, Spring Hill, QLD. This is a prime site, located in Brisbane’s medical district, surrounded by two major hospitals and hubs of specialist consulting practices; many of which are occupying outdated buildings with little floorspace for expansion.
The project will comprise demolition of the current building, and development of a new 15-storey facility to be named Wickham Private. This will be an ultra-modern, integrated medical facility for specialist consultations, day-surgery, and patient recovery. The Investment Manager’s intention is to lease all or most of the floor space before divesting the property to an operator or fund seeking an ongoing revenue stream.
